Learning to Love and Get Along with Ourselves and Others

Making Our Voices Heard

As a child, did you ever feel like raising your hand in school and answering the teacher’s question only to find yourself too nervous to speak up?  How do you feel about that incident now?

The Internet is a great place to get information.  Fortunately or not, it is also a great place to hide.  Often times we see something online, an article or photo, which we would like to respond to.  But like that time in grade school when we were too afraid to respond to the teacher’s question we keep our thoughts and voices to ourselves.

There may be times we keep our voices to ourselves wishing we would speak up. Although it may surprise us, more often than not people are delighted to hear what we have to say.  Our voices and thoughts are welcomed contributions to the conversations taking place around us, whether it be online, with our families, with friends, or in the workplace.

Giving ourselves permission to make our voices heard is an integral part of learning to love and get along with ourselves and others.

  • Right, it has taken the opinion monopoly out of the hands of the media and the big parties and given everyone a say, to be found by those who search thanks to search engines and rather democratic as no one is forced to listen or accept a leaflet from someone standing in the way when one is in a hurry to catch a train :-)

CrisisMaven-- What you say is true; blogs (the Internet) give us a forum in which our voices are broadcast and heard. Thanks for making your voice heard!!!
