Learning to Love and Get Along with Ourselves and Others

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Don’t sweat the small stuff is probably one of the best pieces of relationship advice anybody has ever given me.  Often times people thoughtlessly do or say things that hurt our feelings.  Very infrequently is there any malice behind these words or actions.  More often than not we place ill-intent were none existed.  We speak about being accepting of people, places, and things as they are, but in our minds we only accept those people, places, and things if the way they are is the way we want them to be.

When we don’t sweat the small stuff, we begin to free ourselves from the need to control everything.  Only then does life become beautiful and do our relationships become satisfying.
